Application deadlines
Application periods depend on your nationality. For the summer semester 2024, there are two application periods:
- The first application period starts on 1 October 2023 ends on 1 November 2023. It is open to nationals of countries outside of the EU and the EFTA .
- The second application period starts on 1 December 2023 and ends on 15 January 2024. This application period is open only to nationals of EU/EFTA member states.
If you obtained a German Abitur, a European Baccalaureate, or a German Bachelor's degree, you should apply as if you were a national of an EU/EFTA member state.
If you are not a national of an EU/EFTA member state yourself, but you live in Germany and a close family member is a national of an EU/EFTA member state, please contact [Email protection active, please enable JavaScript.] to ask whether you can apply as if you were a national of an EU/EFTA member state yourself.
All applications will be processed within six weeks after the deadline of the respective application period. The decision will be communicated through the online application portal. Please wait for this decision. Queries on the status of your application will not be answered.
Applicants who need a visa or a certificate or authenticity
If you need a visa to enter Germany and take up studies here, please inquire about the waiting times for visa appointments. After you receive your letter of acceptance from the university, there are only three months left until the start of the semester. In many countries (particulary Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan), this is not enough to get your visa. Therefore, to be able to take up your studies with us, you must apply for a visa before you apply to the Cybersecurity programme and before you know whether you will be admitted.
If you cannot accept your place in the Cybersecurity programme because you get your visa late, we cannot promise that you will be admitted if you arrive in the next semester. You would have to apply again.
If you have completed your previous education in China, India or Vietnam, you will need a Certificate of Authenticity (Echtheitsbestätigung) of your documents issued by the Academic Acknowledgement Bureau in Beijing (Akademische Prüfstelle in Peking), New Delhi (Akademische Prüfstelle in Neu-Delhi) or Hanoi (Akademische Prüfstelle, Deutsche Botschaft Hanoi). Please see the German embassies' websites for details: Deutsche Botschaft Peking, Deutsche Botschaft Neu-Delhi or Deutsche Botschaft Hanoi. You do not need to submit the certificate with your application to our programme, but you will need the certificate to get a visa, and, if you are accepted, you will need the certificate to enroll.
