Deregistration for exams

Deregistration for written and oral exams is possible until one week before the exam.

*You can only take the exam if you participated in the module. You may have to register separately for participation at or before the start of the semester. Check the module handbook, the course catalog on BASIS, and, if avaiable, the eCampus site in time. 
**If you started your Master's degree programme in Computer Science before or in the summer semester of 2023 and are, therefore, still studying according to the examination regulations of 2011/2014, you do not need to register for the second examination session: you only need to register for the first session. This registration also includes the registration for the exercises. If you do not pass the exam in the first session (for example, due to deregistration, failure to appear, or an insufficient result), you will automatically be registered for the second session.

Admission to Master's programmes

Attention

Different deadlines apply for the Master's degree programmes "Computer Science" and "Cyber Security".

Application periods for the Master Cyber Security

Start of studies in summer semester 2025

Applications are still accepted until 15 January 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you qualify and whether you are admitted by 1 February.

Start of studies in winter semester 2025/2026

First application period: from 15 April to 1 May 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you qualify by 1 June. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you are admitted by 1 August.

Second application period: from 1 July to 15 July 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you qualify and whether you are admitted by 1 August.

Application periods for the Master Computer Science

Start of studies in summer semester 2025

First application period: from 15 October to 1 November 2024. 

Second application period: from 1 January to 15 January 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you are admitted by 15 February.

Third application period (only for restricted groups* of applicants): from 16 January to 1 April 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you are admitted within four weeks of receipt of your application.

Notice for applicants from the region of South Asia (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka): from the region of South Asia we have received more applications than we can process. If your application was received after 18 October, we can probably not process it on time.

Start of studies in winter semester 2025/2026

First application period: from 15 April to 1 May 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you are admitted by 15 June. 

Second application period: from 1 July to 15 July 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you are admitted by 15 August. 

Third application period (only for restricted groups* of applicants): from 16 July to 15 September 2025. You will be informed of the decision as to whether you are admitted within four weeks of receipt of your application.

* You can apply during the application periods for restricted groups if one of the following applies: (i) You have already received a letter of admission from us for a previous semester; (ii) You already live in Germany; (iii) You can enter Germany without a visa – this is, in principle, the case for citizens of all EU member states, Andorra, Australia, Brazil, Canada, El Salvador, Honduras, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, San Marino, South Korea, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
