Registering for the Master Program
Every student has to register with the institute at the start of their first semester. Otherwise, they will not be able to register for exams.
After enrolling in the student secretariat, before you can register for exams, you will have to register with the institute. This is a one-time registration which takes places during the first weeks of the semester. Dates and times are announced via email to your university email address.
Registration Process
Please send us the following documents by post as soon as possible. The copies do not have to be certified.
- This form (printed and filled-in)
- A copy of your passport or German Personalausweis (just the page with the photo and your name)
- A copy of your final student ID (pink colored Studierendenausweis, front and back side)
- A copy of your bachelors degree certificate
- A copy of your TOEFL or IELTS result

The Deadline for submitting your documents is May 20. If you want to participate in seminar or lab courses, however, your documents must reach us before the end of April.
Please note
- This is a mandatory registration which is separate from your enrollment at Studierendensekretariat. Without this registration, you will not be able to register for courses on Basis!
- Registration is only possible if you send us all necessary documents, which includes the final student ID. Copies need to be made by yourself.
- If you have not received your final student ID yet, please visit Studierendensekretariat and have them print it for you.
- Studierende, die ihren Bachelor in Informatik an unserem Institut gemacht haben, benötigen nur das Formular und Kopien ihres Masterstudierendenausweises und ihres Personalausweises.
