We would like to express our gratitude to the founders of FEMTEC GmbH - the EAF Berlin (European Academy for Women in Politics and Business Berlin e.V.) and the TU Berlin - who established FEMTEC 25 years ago and created a unique collaborative network. We would also like to thank all partner institutions and alumnae, as well as past members of the Supervisory Board and managing directors. Their joint efforts have created sustainable structures, paved the way for careers, and fostered a network that continues to have an impact to this day.
Going forward, FEMTEC will be coordinated and further developed under the umbrella of the Kompetenzzentrum Technik-Diversity-Chancengleichheit e. V. (kompetenzz) in collaboration with partner companies and universities. This will not only preserve the network - it will also adapt it to current challenges and needs.
The core aspects of the initiative remain unchanged: supporting female students in STEM fields, close, practice-oriented cooperation with leading companies and universities, and targeted preparation for diverse career paths in academia, business, and society.
At the same time, this new phase offers the opportunity to introduce additional digital and hybrid formats, further positioning FEMTEC as a strong, future-proof network for female STEM students, universities, companies, and alumnae.
What’s next?
The next round of the FEMTEC programme begins as early as July 2026, and the application period at the participating universities has begun. Interested female students can apply via this website until July 12!
The University of Bonn looks forward to continuing to help shape the next phase of FEMTEC together with kompetenzz, the participating universities, companies, alumnae, and female students.
