Abstract:
Modern AI has surpassed humans in many tasks, such as playing Go, predicting protein structures, and natural language inference. However, current computers still lag behind human performance in many tasks, such as motion control, while consuming substantially more energy than the human brain. Inspired by brain circuitry, neuromorphic processors may fuel breakthroughs in these tasks, much like GPUs did for conventional AI.
In this talk, I will present algorithms co-designed with Intel's neuromorphic processor Loihi 2, which are orders of magnitude faster and more energy efficient than CPU- and GPU-based algorithms. I will focus on tasks along the entire sensorimotor control loop of robots, using state space models, mathematical optimization, and graph analytics. The presentation will conclude with a roadmap to establish neuromorphic computing as a key driver for the next generation of mobile robots.
Die Veranstaltung ist kostenfrei. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen, teilzunehmen!
