Application period started: Bonn Computer Science Grace Hopper Awards

Starting this semester, the Institute of Computer Science and the Bonner Informatik Gesellschaft (BIG) will award outstanding female students with the Grace Hopper Prizes.

The awards are given for very good student research projects from the last year (project group, bachelor thesis, lab, master thesis) by female students who were enrolled in one of the Bonn Computer Science or Cyber Security programs at the time of writing.

The submission of the work is done via this form and can be done by the students themselves or by the supervisor of the work, supplemented by a short, informal letter explaining what the (scientific) contribution is and why the work is particularly good. The deadline for submission is June 20, 2021.

The award ceremony will take place on Friday 09 July at 4pm together with the BIG award ceremony. Each prize winner will receive a cash prize of 300 Euros in addition to explicit recognition.

The awards are named after computer science pioneer Grace Hopper, who, in addition to her scientific achievements, is known for her perseverance and courage to break new ground.
