Abstract:
As we advance toward deploying intelligent machines in real-world scenarios, 3D perception in open-world environments emerges as a critical challenge. Unlike controlled settings, real-world environments present dynamic and imbalanced data distributions, unseen object categories, and continuous data streams. In this talk, I will explore our efforts to address these challenges, emphasizing approaches that go beyond traditional supervised paradigms. Specifically, I will discuss methodologies for: 1) *few-shot learning* that enables rapid generalization to new categories with minimal data, 2) *open-vocabulary learning* to broaden recognition capabilities for unseen objects, and 3) *continual learning* to adapt to evolving new classes without catastrophic forgetting. I will also highlight the interplay between these settings and how they collectively push the boundaries of 3D perception, enabling systems to perceive and interpret complex, dynamic
environments. Through these explorations, I hope our efforts will provide innovations and insights that drive the future of 3D perception in open-world settings.
Die Veranstaltung ist kostenfrei. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen, teilzunehmen!
