Frank E.Schneider is a researcher at the robotic laboratory of the Computer Science Department III at the University of Bonn and the FGAN - Research Establishment for Applied Science.

His research interests include multi-robot systems with focus on relative localization, formation and tracking. He has co-editored three books and published over 25 scientific papers on conferences and in journals. He is co-organizer of the "International Multi-Robot Systems Workshop" and refereed conference or workshop proceedings.

He joined the FGAN in 1990 and is program manager of the "Experimental human multi-robot system" and "Multi-robot system for sensor and communication networks".

The project teams consist of 5 Ph.D. students, 1 M.Sc., 3 B.Sc., 2 M.Sc. (Polytechnic) and 1 Student. Oh! I am sorry, how could I forget: 8 robots (7 unmanned ground vehicles and 2 unmanned air vehicles)

Frank E. Schneider has studied Computer Science at the University of Bonn, receiving his Diploma degree in 1995. He is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program of the Computer Science Department III at the University of Bonn.

Memberships: EURON SIG on "Cooperative Robotics" (www.euron.org), chair of the NATO RTG on "Multi-robot systems" and chair of the European Robotics group (www.european-robotics.eu).

He is the organiser of the European Land Robotic Trials (ELROB)
