IDEA at Bonn:
Chimera Prototyping Tool / OnLine

Access to Chimera databases has been made available to the World-Wide Web with the construction of the CPT/OnLine system. Using CPT/OnLine, you may start a CPT server running at the University of Bonn, Germany, select one of the existing Chimera databases, and then put data manipulation commands for that database. The DML commands are passed over to the CPT server who evaluates them and returns the output, if existing, to the user on the net.

Internet communication is restricted to data manipulation. The schema of the current database can be inspected, but it is not possible to modify the schema or to create a new database. Such fundamental changes can only be performed locally on the server side.

There is documentation about CPT/OnLine available; its use should however be self-explaining anyway. If you experience any problems, unexpected behaviour, or, perhaps, you like our system, please send us a mail.

You may enter CPT/OnLine using the following button. A CPT/OnLine server process is continuously waiting for connections at the University of Bonn. So please be sure to close your database after your session, in order to not leaving it open for other users. You may alternatively leave CPT/OnLine by one of the provided Leave buttons.

Note that CPT/OnLine is not multi-user capable. All requests from the Web are treated as from a unique user. So please wait until one command is completely evaluated before you push the stop button...
