ABIS: Automatic Identification of Bees The ABIS Web Pages Funding

ABIS - Automatic Bee Identification System - is one of several projects which comprise EDIS - Entomological Data Information System - being supported since April of 2001 by the German Ministry for Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) as part of its BIOLOG programme for Biodiversity in Change.

Work on the ABIS system has been performed between 1995 and 2000 within the project "Automated Species Identification" funded by the German Research Council (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG).
