Curriculum
The curriculum of our Master's Program is divided into four sub-curricula (or tracks), each corresponding to one of the four main areas of competence in research of the Institute for Informatics (Institut für Informatik). Students of this program need to cover at least three out of the four tracks offered. An overview of each sub-curriculum is given in the description of the corresponding track of the Master's Program.
The standard period of study is 4 semesters, including the master's thesis. The Program will be taught in the form of modules which, as a rule, consist of teaching units with a duration of one semester. Each module is completed by an exam. The basis of evaluation are credits. The Master's Program is successfully completed as soon as 120 credits have been obtained. Of these, 88 credits have to be obtained from modules, 30 points from the master's thesis and 2 points from a seminar accompanying the master's thesis.
For further information concerning the obtainment of credits and module plans, please consult the English language version of the examination rules, (especially §4 and Annex 2).
For a complete module overview including course details, please consult the Module Handbook for the Master's Program "Computer Science".
