Computer Science in Bonn
The Institute of Computer Science of the Bonn University has a long-standing tradition. Founded in 1969 as one of the first institutes of computer science in Germany, it has since been known for its substantiated instruction which is strongly characterized by the closeness to up-to-date research in all the decisive areas of computer science.
The close co-operation with many renowned Research institutions in and near Bonn not only enables the students to access interesting internships, but also enlarges the range of fascinating subjects for theses and research work.
The foundation of the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (B-IT), a joint venture of the Bonn University, the RWTH Aachen and the Fraunhofer Institutes in Birlinghoven, has strengthened the position of Bonn as a location for studying computer science and has enlarged its range of programmes by Media Informatics and Life Science Informatics.
Programs of Study
The programs of study are divided into a Bachelor program and several Master programs:
- Bachelor Informatik (6 semesters, course language is German)
- Master Computer Science (4 semesters, course language is Englisch)
